Has anyone tested the XYZ location accuracy of the Tool Changer when swapping heads or even just loading-unloading-loading a single head ? I am concerned about how the tool changing mechanism manages the tight tolerances needed for positional accuracy.

Hey I just did this a couple of weeks ago and found the positioning error to be about 20 micrometers for my printer

Hey Mike, hope this message finds you well.
I'm using a Prusa i3 mk3 3d printer, was wondering what is the life in hours, of an e3d v6 0.4mm diameter nozzle? I'm working on a project for Nozzle health prediction and need a rough estimate, preferably using 'pla' material

So annoyed by how poorly the hemera direct e3d tool changer machine is sold. Firmware parameters are wrong, machine hardware design is off

    Hi Jai!

I came across your post, where you've posted a detailed description of your progress on direct drive extruder for E3D Toolchanger. I have to say, I'm very impressed! I was wondering if you'd be willing to share your CAD files to try it out?

At the moment I am thinking of converting to IDEX rather than Toolchanger as I only need two extruders, however I may end up regretting that decision as 3 or 4 extruders would be nice.

Thanks for your reply re. the IDEX setup. I have been looking into Duet 3D. Do you know if the Duet 2 has enough stepper drivers for doing this or would I need to use an expansion board? They probably have some info about this on their website/forum.

Hi Greg - I work at Oxford University in the Engineering Science Department. We have an old Leapfrog Creatr HS printer which is mechanically sound. I would like to convert it to IDEX using E3D Hemera direct drive heads. I like your design for the BigBox Direct drive IDEX. The Leapfrog is similar to BigBox.. I wondered if you could offer any advice on Electronics and Firmware that you used. Thanks.

      Hello,
At the time I used Marlin firmware and the RUMBA electronics. However I would recommend the Duet 2 Electronics and RRF3 firmware.

    Hey Eviltoy,
I found a response from you regarding an Ender 3, and a Hemera on a SKR e3 mini v1.2

i'm attempting to dial mine in and found your reply offering your firmware with all of the customizations. I'm wondering if I could get that from you along with any/all of your Cura (or prusaslicer) profile.

    Thanks!
