An example of mixing construction techniques. A couple pounds of printed parts using colorFab HT plus a square yard or so of waterjet cut polycarbonate and some stainless steel fasteners. Note the printed thumbwheels to make removing certain panels easy. It worked perfectly in the field. Access to a waterjet machine to cut panels has really opened my eyes to new design possibilities!
Jealous of your waterjet access. Those panels look smooooth! Why did you use 3D printed spacers/washers on the screws on the side but not on the top?
I wasn't going to be on site when it was used, so I made thumbwheels for the panels they were supposed to remove. A non-verbal hint to the users how to go about working with it.
