BigBox 1.1 | It's here! For everyone who backed us on Kickstarter you can login to the file server and download the new Hybrid X-Carriage. Look inside the folder called 1.1 Attached is a few photos of the Hybrid V1.1 in action. More details will become available over the weekend and of course we'll be making upgrade kits available in the coming weeks. Titan | This is E3Ds super-amazeballs extruder. I'll let the experts explain and point you towards E3D's blog post all about the Titan - http://e3d-online.com/index.php?route=extras/blog/getblog&blog_id=33
From a quick scan of the updates to the build docs, it looks like you can run a single extruder using the same carriage. Would be good to get that confirmed though - I've ordered a dual but would like to run a single volcano on it for big prints. Although now the dual carriage can access the full print area maybe I should just get a second volcano instead.
That's correct. It's the same X-Carriage for both the Dual & Pro with both versions getting the full ~300x200x300 build volume!
I see there is currently a discount on the new Titan, as a dual Kickstarter backer should I just buy a pair of Titans whilst they are discounted or will you be doing an upgrade kit containing everything that would include an equivalent discount/saving? I am a little confused as to what I need to buy to do the BigBox upgrade?
Sadly filastruder didn't have the same discount but it ended up being cheaper from there since it's US based and I'm US based, hopefully they don't sell a cheaper kit cuz I'll be getting the shaft for being early lol
I'm a bit confused as well Ray. However, it was mentioned that upgrade kits would be created for those people with the BigBox... I think that will be the easiest method of getting exactly what you we need for our BBs.
Any chance of a view from behind, @Greg Holloway ? So we can see the parts fans.... btw. what are you printing?
@R Design There isn't a photo from behind, which shows much detail. There are a few on the Build manual | http://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/Big...Step_Assembly_Process#V1.1_Printhead_Assembly
Ah. I think I can see the parts fan behind from the front in this one: http://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/File:1.1_directdrive.jpg (the blue and white label of the fan, the diagonal duct slanting downwards I recognise from the .stl..... wonder what kind of breeze that creates on the print....?) As for the print... I think it must be a laser. Lasers are always Top Secret ! ;-)
I just looked up "Delrin" and apparently it's POM. There's a filament! https://www.3dprintersonlinestore.com/filament-pom Did anyone ever print with POM?
The link is available on the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/e3dbigbox/the-e3d-bigbox-3d-printer/posts/1460124 @Steven Burns There's a Zip file available to download with all the files for much easier download of EVERYTHING.
We've had the same discount code up and running since ~5:30pm EST on launch day. I went ahead and applied it to your order retroactively. If there's a kit or anything released down the road, shoot me a message and I'll get you taken care of.
@elmoret Tim, I have the BB Pro and I purchased the BB Dual Upgrade kit. I currently have 2 e3D V6 Direct extruders. What other items would I need to purchase along with the Titan extruder to make this work? Would I be able to use both of these extruders with 1 Titan and the new 1.1 printed parts?
