I bought a v6 from matterhackers because they are super close to me. But I am starting to question if its real or not. The diameters of the the end of the hotend don't match the drawing and are oversized in thickness, and the hotend fan mount seems to be a faint blue, where everyone else I have seen seems to be a brighter glossy like blue. Is there an easy way to tell the difference? Thank you
Look at the form of the heatsink. Must look like that: http://e3d-online.com/image/data/v6/V6-175.png Compare to this fake http://www.banggood.com/0_4mm-E3D-V...Extrusion-Head-Nozzle-With-Fan-p-1036420.html I suggest you ask E3D whether matterhackers are selling original ones...
Can you post some photos? Matterhackers is an authorized distributor, but photos will help know for sure. The v6 fan duct has had a few different shades of blue over time.
@elmoret well I forgot to take a picture of the fan shroud, but here are the pictures of the "V6" for the time being until I get home. The dimension marked in red is way oversized at least 1mm and doesn't fit in the Titan very well. It actually wedged the Titan and bent the ledges.
ya unfortunately not until tonight when I get home. I will also take a picture of the fan shroud as well.
@elmoret I hope theses work. I had to disassemble my Titan because of the problems I am having here. https://forum.e3d-online.com/index.php?threads/titan-not-extruding-correctly.1214/#post-11321 not sure if there is any correlation, let me know if I need to get better pictures. Thanks, Tyler
That is either real, or the best fake I've ever come across. I do agree though that the tolerances seem off, I imagine Matterhackers would let you exchange the heatsink. If not, I'll exchange it for you - use the Filastruder contact form.
@elmoret thank you, if it gives me issues I will exchange it out, but now that ive stretched the titan, as long as it continues to fit I dont mind, I just more wanted to make sure it was a real e3d and not a fake as I have been having issues with the titan and extruder...
Hello, I just bought a lite6 from matterhackers aswell but I don't know if it's real because it doesn't have a brass ring on top and external diameter of shaft doesn`t vary along it. Can you tell me if it's real?
Looks real to me, though it seems to be the old style. They started machining the collet's groove into the heatsink. Btw its $4 cheaper at Filastruder, including shipping! (I run Filastruder, and look at hundreds of E3D hotends a month)
@elmoret thank you, I live in Mexico and bought it in a hurry and had no time to check other stores, i will keep in mind your comment for next time.
Do the new model Lite6 not use the brass ring anymore? I just received one and it has the new cartridge style thermistor and quick connect cables and even came with the silicone sock for the heaterblock. It has the plastic insert for the tube but no brass ring and the hole diameter on the top of the heatsink is tapered in to a 5mm hole?
Excellent, thank you. It's a little confusing when the assembly guide talks about the brass ring http://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/E3D-Lite6_Assembly Metal Parts 1 x Stainless Heatsink (Contains brass embedded bowden coupling ring pre-fitted in top) Even the pictures show the ring.
Ah, that's what was confusing as they updated the pictures and details for the cartridge style thermistor sensors but not the brass ring i guess, no problem just want to make sure I have everything I need when the rest of my printer parts arrive, as it was the store I got it from shipped me the direct version instead of the bowden one so they had to ship the tube and extruder end fitting separately. Thanks again, very quick replies in this forum, I'm glad there are admins and mods around to help out!
