Anyone from the US ordering these, it shows that they want almost more to ship it then the product is worth. Or am I filling something out wrong.
I saw that too, hence why I haven't ordered. Maybe @elmoret can stock (or bulk order) for the BB owners here in the US?
So 2 confirmed orders, I wonder how many we can get to make it worth while for him and what he would have to charge. 3 if you update both of your machines.
I see that sometimes, depending on the material used. Following guidance from @mike01hu I just use a kitchen paper towel with some Methylated spirit on it and it seems to come off just fine and also fully cleans the surface nicely for the next print.
True, I have two for the one machine so I can swap whenever nessessary. Not entirely sure what the big advantage really is, Thermal conductivity? On the other hand, can't we just swap the aluminum for the glass if we need to, we will just have to relevel
I don't think there's any argument to made for ease of switch over. In fact, I haven't even removed the new bed from the machine once since it arrived, so it's almost a moot point anyway. Once you get things working with it, why switch it out at all. Cleaning with a bit of spirit can be done in situ and there's no coating to be applied. Mind you, I can see that might not apply if you find you do have trouble with it and need to switch for, say, nylon (which I've never tried yet). That said, the bed is as easy to remove and replace as glass. It's a perfect fit. There's a pro and con to be added too. The edge is recessed to permit the clip to be attached and be completely clear of the print surface. That's the pro. The con is that, if you were banking on printing out beyond 300 or under 0 (maybe your print head gives you space) then you'll lose that. The printable surface of the PEI bed is a full 300x200 though, so you're not losing anything from the machine specs directly. The other main benefit is the PEI coating, which is akin to having Kapton tape stick ever-so-carefully to your glass bed. This really assists printing and means you need no other bed prep. I'm actually blown away by the bed. For me, I wish I'd got one sooner.
Thanks for the input. I want it but still though 50 dollars just to ship the bed is a hard pill to swallow. Just out of curiosity, would it not be possible to flip the bed if you needed those last few mms. I thought I read both sides are PEI coated.
Yeh - good point - believe you're right Sounds a lot. I think shipping was £18 here, which is what ... $25 depending on when you measure it. Maybe take a break to Europe at some point and have it shipped to your hotel
Awesome, I would say let us know before you pull the trigger, right now I think it comes out after shipping to he around 100, about half of which is shipping. So guess what I am saying is unless you can cut that over all by a good amount to be closer to the base price probably not worth it. Thanks for looking into it!
Ok, this stuff is amazing. Just printed a piece with pretty large surface on the bed, and it sticks perfectly on clean bed, no warping at all during print. After it cooled, it slipped right off the bed. Only static electricity holding it down Previously I was having warping issues printing the same piece on glass bed with glue and/or hairspray.
