I have 3 Titan Aeros, 1 of them does not have the hole drilled all the way through the center of the front, the 2 new ones I just got have the holes drilled all the way through. Can someone tell me why the difference? The reason I am wondering, is the first one (without the hole drilled all the way through), I was not able to use the e3d stepper motor with, it binds up. I had to grind down the shaft to get it to work. Thanks
I don't know the answer to your question, but I remember that I read something about needing a nylon washer on the old version of the heatsink in the assembly instructions https://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/Titan_Aero#Assembly_Steps
As you have discovered by yourself, the first version did not allow non E3D stepper motors to run properly if the spacing was not respected. This was fixed by having a hole drilled all the way through for the shaft to have more clearance.
