My issue/reason for wanting to know what happens, especially for the fins, is to see if the PLA wades mount will melt.
With. On the side where the hot air blows out of the fins.
Just did some thermocouple measuring:
First gap between fins: 70C
Second gap between fins: 45C
I'm more concerned with the PLA wades. Have not tested yet, but I'm going to unplug the fan and measure the top fins to see if they get to PLA...
Yes but jamming won't stop the heat. If you don't notice it in time it might melt the extruder.
Any idea how hot the fins will get? I might try putting a thermal fuse on them, to disconnect the heater.
I had trouble getting the collet to hold. So I modified the pathway into the extruder instead; just melted it closed a bit, so that only the...
Has someone tested to see what happens if the extruder fan fails? I wonder how warm the fins will get.
No no higher than 60 C
I'm going to get a thermal fuse and clip it to the bottom 2 fins, but I can't get a decent temp measurement with an IR thermometer or a k-type...
I get a white/gray power too, and use eSun PETG opaque black, and now opaque white.
Well with that hot end you should be able to up the temp even more, to see if that fixes it.
Probably is something else beside this.
