After 5 days, 2.5 Benchys, and a tall single perimeter rocket I put loctite on all the grub screws and went for broke. 36 hours and 580g of PLA later it finished.

The only supports were around the bottom edge to hold it to the bed and in the eye sockets, nothing supporting the dome which came out pretty well without them. Printed at 210 degrees, 60 bed on hairspray and at 2.5mm layer height in cheap eBay filament. 3 perimeter walls and 0 infill.

Yeah I'll be painting it. Also have to figure out how to make the chin piece snap on and off. I've got plenty of rare earth magnets its just figuring the best way to mount them.

@Kanedias : Gongratulations ! So far all my prints running longer than 5 hours failed because the Y-axis motor lost steps. Can you tell me at what voltage your Y-stepper is running on ?

Yeah I painted it and also made the lower jaw detachable with RE magnets. I use it as an example when I'm asked how might an object can I print :D

Picture would be great :). Did you post process it at all to smooth it?

image.jpeg No post processing, just rattle can paint. Maybe add some stencilling at some point, I dunno.

I think I've found a local supplier for MEK so I may try that on future prints if I can find a way to do it safely.
