I have been trying to get some ABS printing well. I have the E-steps almost perfect. Bed is set to 110deg which seems to be working, extruded temp is 235deg. I have no cooling at any point but seem to get thermal runaways at the around the same place with any print (layer 7-8). Any help would be great.

I will have to clean the head up a touch as it got covered in one instance!

Check the G-Code for any M106 commands, I have found that sometimes the slicers throw in a random buggy command.

Also have a look at the LCD and see what the temperatures say when it has the runaway. It locks the screen so you can tell which temperature has changed from the set value.

Will do! I have reset the Z as I was getting some rough lines. Cleaning the nozzle later and I will check the code before I run it. Have noticed that the Z coupler top screws have come loose too, although the shy won't be affecting the print temps.
