This has been long project, but finally it is about ready.

I started this at the time when bigbox was already sold, i ordered aluminium parts from random chinese manufacturer and it was almost total disaster. budget did not hold, did take 2months more than expexted, parts were damaged on the way, they miss few cuts, some of the cuts were off by several mm..

but, after pretty hard manual work, i managed to pull those alu parts on working order..

    other non standard modifications:

i am using replicape for controller
    manga touch screen
x and y axis are done with igus bearings
    dry box for filaments
    extruder fan
    bltouch
    Axis fullhd ip camera
    additional "enclosure" heater
extra structure for holding big plastic bag on top of the printer
    and many other minor mods

    few videos:

pictures are more than thousands words, here some:

    No, anodized

There are still some tape glue residues on alu plates (packing was not first class), have clean those to get full "shine" :)

Can you give some advice to others who might be tempted? With hindsight, is it worth doing? Anything you would do differently? How much did it cost? Would you use the same supplier?

and are you in the states?
did you send the metric files or did you convert them to standard?
how did you handle the engraved hex details where in the acrylic they just used the laser to a certain depth?
