No, if you are awaiting a 1.1 kit then it will come with both Titan and a dampener for the Y motor.

BigBox preorders will include the Astrosyn damper already, (1) is all you need to make a substantial difference in noise level.

The dampers are only needed to cut the noise from the "Y" motor, it's possible that they are provided with version 1.1 of the BB........ but I have not seen a definitive spec for 1.1

I would Email support to ask if you get the damper(s) with 1.1, and both how many and where they are fitted.

I guess the build WiKi would also list where the dampers are installed.

    See "Y-Axis Motor Mount" in...

    http://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/BigBox_Parts_Preparation

which seems to be the only place it's mentioned.

In that photo its show the damper comes with the Pro (Columns: General + 4 + 5) but not the dual (Columns: General + 3 + 5).
Hmm. OK. I do see the one. One my current printer I put them on the Z axis. I will look in the manual and see where they could go.

    Hi Mark,

I think there might have been some communication breakdown on our part regarding this and for that I have to apologise. It was never our intention to make you wait in order to slip the price change past you. I also don't think we fully appreciated the level of your frustration on this point in the communication we had with you after you ordered the BigBox.

I would like to email you to arrange to get this sorted, as Tim mentioned we will of course honor the old price on this occasion, so I will arrange to get the difference back to you.

Please keep an eye out for my email.

    Dan

Thanks Dan, I must have been uncharacteristically subtle in my phrasing, I'll try to make sure I don't do that in the future :)

Don't worry about refunding anything as I'll only be sending the money back to you for something else I'm sure, so we can sort out the details via email.

Astrosyn damper upgrade completed. The M3 x 6mm screws should be included with the part purchase, that was annoying having to search around for one to use! Worthwhile improvement though. No one at home even knew the printer was printing, before we used to here it on the 2nd floor, not anymore:

I just tested an "Astrosyn like" damper but got more noise!? It seems the Y stepper is so close to the back plate or the bracket that it vibrates into it and creates a new more intense sound.

Is it just me or are anyone else experiencing this? I have the KS BB 1.0

Thinking I need to create a new bracket with an extra mm of clearance.

So the astrosyn is in 1.1 ... considering my BB is mostly down and suffered all sort of issues (missing parts, burn boards, broken drivers) and never ever produced a useful print. Not to mentioned I have been modifying on the fly ... I almost regret being an early backer. :p ALMOST
Anyhow, I guess time to locate one of this dampers

I ordered some fro aliexpress as I can wait anyhow and I might fit them in some other printers.
Jokes aside, I love how active this community.
