BigBox preorders will include the Astrosyn damper already, (1) is all you need to make a substantial difference in noise level.
The dampers are only needed to cut the noise from the "Y" motor, it's possible that they are provided with version 1.1 of the BB........ but I have not seen a definitive spec for 1.1 I would Email support to ask if you get the damper(s) with 1.1, and both how many and where they are fitted. I guess the build WiKi would also list where the dampers are installed. In that photo its show the damper comes with the Pro (Columns: General + 4 + 5) but not the dual (Columns: General + 3 + 5). Hmm. OK. I do see the one. One my current printer I put them on the Z axis. I will look in the manual and see where they could go.

Astrosyn damper upgrade completed. The M3 x 6mm screws should be included with the part purchase, that was annoying having to search around for one to use! Worthwhile improvement though. I just tested an "Astrosyn like" damper but got more noise!? It seems the Y stepper is so close to the back plate or the bracket that it vibrates into it and creates a new more intense sound. Is it just me or are anyone else experiencing this? I have the KS BB 1.0 Thinking I need to create a new bracket with an extra mm of clearance.
So the astrosyn is in 1.1 ... considering my BB is mostly down and suffered all sort of issues (missing parts, burn boards, broken drivers) and never ever produced a useful print.Not to mentioned I have been modifying on the fly ... I almost regret being an early backer. ALMOST Anyhow, I guess time to locate one of this dampers
I bought some Emvio NEMA 17 Vibration dampers (like Astrosyn) from here: https://emvioeng.com/shop/product/emvio-vibration-dampers-for-nema-17-stepper-motors/ They seem ok in quality but I have no comparison to the Astrosyns and need to print Alex bracket.
I ordered some fro aliexpress as I can wait anyhow and I might fit them in some other printers. Jokes aside, I love how active this community.
