Not sure whether I understand this completely wrong or my printer behaves completely wrong. When I do a auto home, the head is moving forward until the end stop, then moving left to the end stop and then it goes to more or less the center of the print area. I'd expect go have the printhead going to the "waste tank", isn't that supposed to be home and wouldn't that make much more sense then going to the center of the bed?
On most 3D printers, home is X=0 and Y=0 (this is to the front and to the left). The bigbox Dual does this, but the BB mono/pro homes indeed to the center of the bed. (I suppose you have a Pro then )
That's right. In my humble opinion the only location which would make sense is something about X: +70 / Y: +240. But I guess I cannot set this to the home position, right?
Yes, I understand this, that was only my opinion. Since the printhead is normally extruding more material after print (and before), I just thought, it would make sense to go to the waste tank instead. Maybe it makes much sense to autohome to X: 150 / Y: 68, but I didn't see the reason so far.
Ah, I see where you are going. You are right about the waste tank, but this is only needed after a print, and not after an auto home.
That would be a park position. You could add the script to the ending G-code so it goes there after a print. The theory with homing in the middle of the bed on a pro is that the autoleveling system will use this as the base point for the others. They should really offer a firmware with autoleveling disabled and push Marlin's new Mesh Leveling (Manual leveling) It's superior in every way
