    Duplication mode! Too easy! Just sent a M605 S2 command before clicking print and voila!!!!!! :D

    They are 0.2mm off which is normally adjusted on the start script, in duplication mode I don't think you can set the offset in the parameters of the M605 command, you can set x, and temp diff but nothing else?
    I just lifted with baby stepping Z after the first layer, and off they went! There has to be a better way...

    This style of printing is probably a good candidate for using a raft. Once the raft is complete, what's left should be level for both nozzles for the rest of the build.

    @Greg Holloway
    I am getting lots of MAX TEMP and THERMAL RUNAWAY... Since we have PT100 amplifiers on the BB, why don't we use PT100 sensors instead of thermistors?
    Do the PT100 sensors fit the V6 heater block?
    Can the sensors just be swapped? or we need to change firmware?
    Thank you kind sir.

    We do use PT100s. Check the molex connections on the PT100 and the matching wire, they can work lose.

    If you are using the original silver-cabled PT100s they might need replacing as they can be worn with all the moving and poking around.

    Greg, I just noticed that one carriage cooling fan is pulling air from the back, away from the hotend heatsink and the other cooling fan is pulling air over the hotend heatsink. Did I connect things incorrectly?

    I think so, yes. I'll have to check when i get back in Monday though. Pretty sure that's right. It can't go together wrong I don't think.

    Are these the best steppers for the B.B.? Are they worth the upgrade?

    I have them and like them; the stepper motors are much quieter in operation. You do need to tune the drivers to get the best combintion of required torque and low noise in operation. Part of the whining noise seems to be amplified by attaching a heatsink, to the point where the attachment material (vibration transmitting/absorbing?) can make a difference in sound (strange but true in my limited experience).

    Hey Greg,
    I realize this is an old post, but you may want to modify your advice when ordering from E3D. Just received my E3D order, looks like the order notes are simply ignored. Any advice on where to buy the 1700mm cable and the correct endstop?
    Cheers

    Hi,

    We don't have any bigbox parts left unfortunately. You'll probably need to make your own extended cable from a standard cable and adapt any designs to take a different endstop switch.
