Try doing Z probing both with the X carriage tool selected (presumably T0), and with no tool selected (T-1). Let me know if there is any difference. Also, please try the beta 4 firmware that I linked to 4 posts ago.

I will... But I got my error in think...
If was wondering when the offset is used and am I right it is just used when I do G30 with coordinates to probe?
So in my homez.g and homeall.g i had a move to a spot with G1 X and Y and the just a G30 to probe there. So the offset was not used for positioning. I should just do G30 with X and Y coordinates...

The probe X and Y offsets are only used for probing. They are subtracted from the coordinates you supply in the G30 commands in bed.g, and the head reference point is moved to the resulting location before probing starts.

Did a quick print of the changed IR holder last night after fighting with my IR probe... think it has some connections issues or a bad solder point. Sometime while leveling the value suddenly jumped to 300 or 400 sometimes 1000 and the leveling process failed.
I resoldered the connector on the board, then it was better.

I checked the height difference between X and U carriage and the U is about 0.1-0.2 mm higher than X.

I am going to work through all the tool change and axis remapping to try a dual print...

New firmware 1.16 beta 5 is now available on GitHub. AFAIK this has all the support needed for IDEX including mirrored prints, provided that you wire the two print cooling fans in parallel.

Ok after a lot of fighting with settings and other stuff I have a simple wipe solution working so far and I was able to get a first dual print which I can show:

I use the 34mm 1.8° Nema14 motors now, the smaller one with 0.9° are too weak IMHO, still the stock IDEX carriage design as I have troubles printing the new carriages with the current carriages, cooling issues, bridging issues...

Well I have now idea what you are up to, I changed them to have the cable mounts on the back and not on the side, that gives you additional movement space so...

Ok I had to postpone the mounting of the Duex because I have a faulty cable... My Duet does anything with just this cable connected to the PIN header... Thanks to Tony a new cable will be dispatched next week...

In the meanwhile I already designed a mount for the Duet end Duex to be mounted in the BigBox. The space is now really small for routing cables and access through the window but it works, I tried it. I had the Duet left and the Duex right with the PIN headers facing each other, the cable connecting both just makes a loop to the top, will provide pictures as soon as I have them mounted.
For mounting it may be good to connect the cables first, at least the ones coming from the sides like main power, heated bed and heaters.

Ok I improvised a bit but it works now, so the boards are really fine:

I think i have reached the limit of what Marlin and Rumba can do now, i have almost reached the end of my teather with it that is for sure. I have IDEX working very nicely with Rumba now but i cant rely on it. Tool change is wierd. 90% of the time its fine but the rare occasion it will decide its time to have a good stretch and go colide with its brother. Other times starting prints is odd with the wrong tool trying to move in the wring direction despite the endstop being triggered until i power off and on then all is well for a bit. Even mesh bed leveling causes pauses in motion at times as if rumba cant keep up. Replaced the drivers and its quieter and print surface is nicer but still the quirks remain and they are random which is worse than consistent.

    Soooo

I want to ditch Rumba/Marlin & Pi for a solution that seems designed for and up to the job.

Is the Duex availible to buy as i dont see it on the Duet site. Also do i need new PT100 boards for Duet... Basically is the a list if components that i can buy to strait up replace the brains of my bigbox as id happily order tomorrow :)

The production DueX5 and DueX2 boards are currently being manufactured and if all goes to schedule we should be shipping them before Christmas. They should be available to pre-order soon.

If you use PT100 sensors then you will need to buy a PT100 daughter board for the Duet WiFi. Each daughter board supports 2 sensors.
