Hello all I have been handed a e 3D bigbox duel head printer form my boss at work. he states he has bought it back in 2015 or 2016 and assembled it but it never worked or printed anything. So I got the printer assembled and a lot of extra parts he ordered. So at this point I am wondering what I need to do to get up and running.
right now if I turn on the power the screen comes on but it is blank and the RUMBA board (powered by USB after disconnecting the blue USB) shows a green light for power by USB and the TX light green comes on and off approximately 4 sec. blinks twice and the red LED by EXP2 comes on every 5 sec or so. I did go to link on how to set up duel head printer and there seems to be a lot of stuff one must know.
at this point I am thinking the RUMBA is not working well or right but not sure. So is there an upgrade for the RUMBA to be replaced with something else? or is there a way to fix what I have.
    thank you

Look through this forum for "Duet" upgrade wired or wireless, contact Duet maker and see their forum too.

Your possible major problem is did it ever work? (ok above says NO)
If it never worked then what is a good printer may not improve if you spend time and money on upgrades.
The original Rumba works ok without any firmware upgrades, there are some sillies but depending on where you start upgrading it (firmware) may lead you to a lot of heartache.

IDEALLY you would go through the build and particularly commissioning process (absolutely necessary) but there are so many versions and mods that it may be hard to trace the original build instructions which are good but I think still exist and are available.

First step would be to try and get it working with the Rumba just to see that it works at all.

THEN look to essential upgrades like the Duet.

Don't know your level of knowlege in this hobby (or work).

I'd test the rumba with a computer first. Just connecting USB and trying to connect with a terminal emulator / console. See here: RUMBA - RepRap

If it's dead you should be able to find a second hand one. There are probably some of us having one laying around after upgrading to e.g. Duet.
