Sounds like there are a few goodies coming out.. V1.1 Titan Bowden conversion I'm thinking possibly ceramic/clay? smaller carriage for increased build area with Dual
I wonder what that rod on the right of the bed is doing. I do have a spare rod, so perhaps it wasn't a mistake after all ...
I wish they had angled the camera up just slightly more and zoomed in a bit! It looks like that extra stepper blocks the dump bucket, so I wonder if they've got something up their sleeve there or they've just taken it off completely, as it sounds like it wasn't that useful for dual printing anyway. And what are the four pale bits along the horizontal bracket below the print head - just reflections or something else interesting?
The extra 'rod' is indeed a dial gauge stand. I'm guessing the rear-mounted stepper can only be for a bowden-type drive. I wonder why, and I wonder how that will affect BigBox's ability to print flexibles... Guess I'll be wondering till May...
Im sure they will release the information prior to may "next couple of weeks" I think they are trying to improve build volume for dual extruder.
If you read what @LiviLammister wrote she is running that setup. One direct with Titan and the other bowden. She says that for printing support with the second the bowden is enough. The direct Titan is for you main filament...
I have a feeling the true benefit of this 1:3 gearing on the titan could be to enable even smaller layer heights.
I got this from Greg as an answer to the question if remaining backers would get the BB v1.1: "Only pre-orders will be a v1.1, however all kickstarter backers will be given access to all the files and we will have upgrade kits available." It would have been nice to get the hands on the v1.1 at first build, but I still think that this is a decent solution.
IMO get the upgrade kit and just install that the first time around, if only to save yourself the hassle of all the disassembling, rewiring, and recalibration
Alrighty, wind me up and point this late backer to the ADD TO CART button! I'm ready to slap plastic, yo.
It is easy said, but we bui, ding or with built machine got no option since this is not yet available in any form. Also going 1 bowden and 1 direct, needs a place for the bowden part and I am not willing to change the back of the machine.
There's actually plenty of precut holes on the back side. I'm sure the bowden setup it was already premeditated.
