Can we use anyother motherboard? Was thinking Ultimaker 2+..all connections same and even uses pt100 too.and highly reliable.when we changed drivers to drv8825s and wound the machine right up fast it suffered from the 8bit struggling. .is UM2+ board a 32bit? Also sometimes the display suffers latency if we use it fast.
    Other options plz?

I thought about this too. Sure you can use the UM2 board but it is not 32bit, processor is the same as on the RUMBA...

The um2s we use have never gone wrong.last check over 4000 hrs between them..except one extruder issue after using the dreaded ninja flex

I got my duet today. I designed my own adapter to mount it. I prepared my cables. Next step is to design a new casing for the display... but I think I am going to mount it this weekend without a display mount...

Mine is in the mail, can't wait! Could you post the stl for your mounting adapter? It would most likely be better than anything I could do in the short amount of free time that I get between work, kids and pregnant wife...

My mounting adapter is designed to use the spacers you normally use for mounting a main board in an ATX case, you know those little hex cylinders...
I post as soon as I have them printed and tested...

I am in Germany, and got it just before they raised the price from £90 to £120 for the Duet WiFi. For everything (board, PT100 adapter, PanelDue and shipping) I paid £229.80.
And I was very surprised about the delivery time. I wasn't expecting to have it sent so soon. Now I have to get some connectors for my Z-axis motors.

Let us know what you think about it. I find it very pricey, but you do get a 32-bit CPU. Is it really necessary for a Cartesian printer? *Is a little confused*

Regarding new algorithms in the firmware like what Marlin tries with the LIN_ADVANCE to calculate the pressure in the nozzle so that corners and line ends print better those 8-bit processors reach their limits.

I have the opposite problem, I could probably do with investing in another machine :)

Yeah, I hope that will change soon... I am still getting to know the printer so I trust it to do longer prints (recently went through almost a whole roll of Colorfabbs Glow fill to print a T-Rex skull :( ), also still learning how to get the best results.
