Hello, I did receive my Titan today. I noticed that there a two new parts that are not documented in the assembly manual. A new M4 screw part for adjusting the Idler tension without tools (which is pretty handy!), and a single lockwasher that should probably secure a screw. Where should this washer go?
Do you have pics? That have been doing refinements as they find improvements. Curious to see and find out more.
The thumb screw is in the shop too: http://e3d-online.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=841&search=Thumb
The thumbscrew doesn't sound that necessary. I keep the same tension for most filaments, rarely need to change it. I'm happy to get the allen keys out if needed. This thumbscrew will add weight, but if you are really fussed I'm sure a printable alternative is out there. I can't see where a lock washer would come in handy?
Will the thumb screws be for sale for previous Titan buyers. I bought 4 Titans. I'd like to upgrade them all.
I just got my Titan with the same new parts as mari and am also wondering about the (M3) locking washer. Where should this go? It's probably time to upgrade the documentation. Apart from these extra parts, both filament guides are black (in the wiki page it says one is white), the idler arm is redesigned. I just found where the locking washer goes, it's supposed to be on the screw that goes through the filament drive shaft: "If supplied, use the shake-proof washers under the head of the top-right screw to minimise risk of loosening during service." Guess it doesn't hurt to read the manual more carefully.
The documentation has been updated to show the new parts, but it is still a mystery about the M3 locking washer and where it is used. Anyone have an answer to that? You can see it in the what's in the box picture, but not in the fixings kit list. I'll see E3D this weekend at the Midwest RepRap Festival. I will ask them if no one knows beforehand. http://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/Titan_Assembly#What.27s_in_the_Box
Hahaha... Holy crap I'm blind... Missed it in the manual and your post. Thank you. Never heard it called a shake proof washer before. Mystery solved
