    Hi everybody,

After getting the dust of my i2, I saw that a bunch of stuff changed in 1-2 years.

The biggest change (as expected btw) are the hotends, and it's nice to see this very nice design (E3D v6).
Add to that, the discussion on 3mm vs 1,75mm.

Now I still have a working hotend (MakerGear - not even in the Hotend inventory on reprap), but I'm afraid it's going to die some of these days (often getting 'killed' error in Marlin - Yes, waw a difference compared to early Sprinter version). And of course a large stock of 3mm PLA.

The real question : Can I buy a 3mm and get it easily covered to 1,75 afterwards? What's my best option?

    Regards,
    Tim

The heatsink, heatbreak, and nozzle are diameter specific on a v6.

Thx for the answer. So if I get this right, too little to recycle when converting?

That's up to you. The heater, thermistor, fan,, fan duct, and heater block stay the same.
