I'm thinking of upgrading my Dual 1.0 to Dual Titan setup and have some questions:

    1. Does the bowden setup hotend much worse for detailed work than the direct drive? Have anyone tested this? Yes I know that this hotend is for support material, but I have kids who love 2 colourprints now and then.

    2. If I upgrade, I want the lightest NEMA 17 there is to save x-carage weight. Is this motor ok? And should it be 200 or 400 steps/revolution?

    3. Is there any plans of dual titan direct drive? (With 300mm x-axis) If it is, it's just stupid to upgrade now I then need to do this all again. :)

    Sorry for my spelling :)

You are best posting this into the Guides, Mods, and Upgrades section.

    In terms of your questions:

    1. I agree completely, in my case its actually I do many dual color and dual material (PLA + flexi) prints and so would prefer a dual direct setup.

    2. Again there is talk of which are suitable stepper motors in the same forum, here is a recent chat http://forum.e3d-online.com/index.php?threads/which-nema17-for-titan-usa.1161/ I think the version that people are looking at are either:

or (and my preference, see comments in the above forum link)

The one you have linked to can use more amps 1.2 and has a step angle of 0.9, the 2 mentioned above have a step angle of 1.8, although possibly that is just a custom firmware change.

    3. If you look in the Guides, Mods, and Upgrades section (http://forum.e3d-online.com/index.php?forums/guides-mods-and-upgrades.26/) you will see a thread titled BigBox 1.1, if you look at post #331/#332 you will see I asked Greg Holloway about a dual direct drive Titan setup, as this was mentioned previously, I think it is being looked into but could be months away. RichRap also mentioned something about getting the Titan working however I am not sure if this was for a dual direct drive though.
