We have decided to create a forum to act as a knowledge base comprising of guides, tips, tricks and all other things E3D. Hopefully over time it will become a discussion centre for all our products. We get a lot of thoroughfare on our site and it is our hope that we can generate lots of healthy discussions.

The forum is just starting out (went live today) so we are looking to crowd-source some of the awesome guides and tutorials that many of you have written. Between you all, there is a fair bit of E3D experience! :)

By way of some encouragement we are running a competition for the best 10 posts made before Midnight (GMT) on the 31st March. The rewards for the best posts as follows:

    Winner
    £75 Store Credit

    2nd Place
    £50 Store Credit

    3rd Place
    £30 Store Credit

    4th - 10th Place
    £20 Store Credit

The posts can be on anything, however we are particularly looking for:
    1. Assembly guides - printer specific or not
    2. Reports of prints in interesting materials - very high temperatures?
    3. Troubleshooting guides
    4. Hacks & Mods
    5. Printed Add-Ons - Carriages, mounts, ducts, etc..
    6. Kraken-related experiences
For many of you, this could be as simple as re-posting one of your existing guides here. We're looking to create a centralised knowledge-base pertaining to all things E3D.

We will judge the posts based on a number of things including their quality, originality, usefulness and level of entertainment.

This thread will be the center for the competition, if you want your thread to be considered in the competition, post a link below. Stay tuned for the results! :D

    Hello all,

I couldn't find a bowden/ fan mount specifically for the i3 with an E3D v5 hotend, so I made one!

I am currently printing the first print of this design, and if you have any suggestions for improvements, let me know!

Very nice! I have a prusa I3 from Makerfarm. Hopefully this will fit.
A question, if I open the files that are on Thingiverse, should they be rotated 180 degrees or should they be printed the way
they open in Netfabb. It looks like support will need to be on also.

You will probably need to rotate the stl files so that the largest flat surfaces is oriented down.

Also, I am currently printing this, so beware that it isn't a tested set up yet. The who set up measures ~130mm in width, so there's a chance it might not be totally optimized yet for all the different i3's. I might be able to slim down the width a little by angling the fans, but I'll see how this first print comes out and how it performs.

My printer died and my engineering studies had to take precedence, but I did get the printer fully functional again the other night. I might wait to post updates on that part for a little while longer because I ordered a Bulldog XL extruder to pair with the hotend, so I might do an update with an optional non-bowden mount for the Bulldog XL extruder.

As of now though, I did go ahead and angle the fans to reduce the width, but I can't attest to their performance just yet.
