Using the thermocouple offered on the site here, how is it mounted to the hotend? Is it put into the hole where the thermistor sits? or wrapped in an insulating material?

    Hi Dizzy,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - to mount the thermocouple, you place it into the hole that the thermistor normally sits in. There is no need to insulate the welded tip provided that the HotEnd is not electrically connected to the rest of the system. Remember that the legs must remain insulated since the temperature is measured at the point where they are connected.

Be aware that the thermocouples that we sell are insulated using PTFE, so the leads must be held away from the HotEnd if you are going above 300.

    Cheers,
    Josh
