First post! Just upgraded to a Titan extruder, and at the same time have swapped PLA for Edge filament. Seems to be printing pretty nicely so far. However, I've always done without a fan (something I always felt I could really do with for PLA). I was intending to add a fan now, as I had to redo the cable management, but I'm not sure if I should be using one with Edge? I read somewhere that using a fan with PET may adversely affect the inter-layer adhesion (though may improve print quality)? Anyone have any information/thoughts regarding fan use with Edge filament? Cheers, Jaspar
It is entirely dependent on the part you are printing. Edge will print without fans just fine BUT there are some instance where a fan will help. If you can add support for a fan then do it. You can always remove the fan from the printhead if you don't use it often. It is better to have it and not need it etc....
While I'm asking questions... What's the best cold pull temperature for Edge if I need to clear a jam? Thanks!
I'd add to greg's comments, since I've almost gone to exclusive printing of Edge for all my prototypes, that when you do use the fan use less of it that you would for PLA in the same model. In instances where you use 100% on PLA you might use 30-50% on Edge. Just make sure it is super dry.
