So I have a BBPro v1.1 Hybrid with Titan upgrade, all firmware/software is up to date. as far as I can tell my stepper is the larger 0.9, although not really sure as the documentation is really clear.

So based on the firmware release notes the esteps should be 852, but does that mean it doesn't need calibrating?

There may be a sticker on the stepper motor that may contain the degrees/step. If not it should have the model number that will allow you to look it up. I'm not 100% sure what specs they are.

I was running with 905 steps until I changed to 1.8 motors. I would calibrate them to see that you get say 100mm extruded when asking for 100mm but I would then base it on how well it prints. If it over-extrudes then reduce it.

Ok thanks, sticker clearly states they are 0.9 motors, but I guess a little calibration would also help
