Can I solder on 2 feet of 22 AWG copper wire onto the other end of the brown glass fiber insulated wires that connect to the thermistor wires? I know the end that connects to the thermistor wires should be crimped with the ferrules, but can I solder extra wire on the other end or does that affect the resistance too much? Thanks
The resistance of the thermistor is much higher than the resistance of a soldered joint or the additional cable (within reasonable limits!) so provided that your joints are good, your temperature measurements will be accurate.
