Definitely looking forward to this one, I basically retired my second head as I have gotten tired of fiddling with it since I have limited time to play with the big box usually I have never been able to get it as perfect as I want.

There are plenty of details. Were there any specific ones you wanted?

I'm really looking forward to this one. 2 weeks is much sooner than I expected.

    Questions:
    1) Will one head be docked whilst the other prints?
    2) Will we do a mesh levelling for each head? (I see this as a positive)

    I have some questions:

    - The new middle frame has new large holes in it, are these functional (for dumping ?)
    - The top right frame part had a new cutout in V1.1 to allow enough room for the titan's big gear, is this still required ?
    - How does this work together with S3D ? does S3D have support for 2 independant x axis or does the firmware need to switch axis with a gcode ?
    - most obvious, what's it gonna cost ?

    - are you guys providing an update manual this time ?

One head will of course be clear of the bed while the other prints.

There is only levelling for the primary extruder E0, then you input the offsets into the slicer and and use the M218 code. We use standard Marlin which supports Dual X-Axis. Other firmware is also available.

The holes are for weight reduction as we are doing other testing with the machine unrelated to the Dual X system, the upper supports in the photo are waterjet cut from 5mm aluminium.

The Titan gear is lower than the top.

heads are selected with T0 & T1 as before. all the moves are scripted in S3D, or other slicers.

We have no pricing for the moment, I am on the final stages of the design now. RC1 is printing as I speak and will be tested next week. We will release the STL files a few weeks before we have an upgrade kit available so you can get the upgrade sooner.

Are the steppers controlled with separate drivers? I just got a Duet WiFi and it only has five drivers. How many are needed for this set-up?
And is it heavier than a dual Titan set-up?

There's no gain in build volume but there is a ~40mm loss for dual and ~15mm in single.

    Yes.

    6 drivers,

    T0 (Left X-Axis)
    T1 (Right X-Axis)
    E0
    E1
    Y
    Z

We don't have a dual titan direct drive setup so I can't comment on weights. I haven't measured yet anyway.

So there is going to be a second version of the titan or is that a quick copy paste?

In regards to the upgrades - I'm still on single head pro. Will I have to go thru all previous upgrades to bring it up to a duel, then duel titan, then duel megawesome or whatever this beast will be called, or will you be able to jump from from pro to fancy ?
also, could you put "kittens" or "orphanage" on the invoice so it's easier to explain to the purse holder ?

Since the 1.1 upgrade was all in the x carriage, you should be able to go directly

Will there be a conversion kit for the titan or will we have to buy a whole new one? It it just the x axis that is loosing, or will there be shortening to the z as well?

What will the spacing be between the X-axis rods? And is there any loss in the Z-axis?

I think PsyVision was designing his own version.
