    Yo.

Some of the Gates GT2 6Mm belt idlers arrived today.

Unfortunately they are not compatible with any of my printers, they are 1mm too wide to fit on any of my mounting hardware.

What's the deal? Why sell idlers that don't fit on the most common printer type? The ender range.

    Sigh :(

Maybe because 3D printers aren't Gates' big market? Their pulleys and idlers are designed for industrial equipment. They are wider, because the flanges are quite a bit thicker.

I got some, and reprinted the ends of my printers transports (X & Y axes) to have room for them. They are very nice. They have good bearings in them, and run smoothly. The metal finish on them is also way better than on the cheap idlers.
