Hmmm, nice! I already ordered the Chinese version :/ but I guess if it doesn't go well I will order from misumi. Thanks a lot for the tip!
Nice work guys, this looks really good. Props to Greg for starting this design. I'm interested to see how you have considered to make up for the Z gap that has been created by the hotends hanging higher in the Aero's... I guess you'd just raise the bed? Would there be a way to gain more Z? While we are on the topic, is there any worry of having the carriages "hanging" from the rail? I suppose that the distance from rail to nozzle should be as little as possible. You see, the longer the arm, the more the clearance of the linear bearing (or twist of the rail itself) is amplified to X-deviation.
Do you have your parts on thiniverse yet? Also what is the part number for the molex connectors your using?
Here is those files. Right_X_Carriage has not yet been tested becouse there was one mistake with cable conduit. I also change little that belt fixing place to get assembly little easier. Not sure is that going work or not. BLTouch support could be maybe to low. I put nuts between to get it little higher. Not tested it yet. But yeh i cant print now anything before i get one 16tooth pulley. I have to borrow Y axis pulley to U-axis. Forgot to order one more becouse i thought that old x axis pulley is also 16 but it was 20
@EASI3D : I have found two possible solutions on ebay: One is 7x7 ,mm internal. The other is 10x6 mm internal . I've received the 7x7 one today, within a week (from China!). This drag chain is 1 mm higher than the original one and was only $3,66, so I thought I'll give it a try. Still waiting for the 10x6 chain (which should be the same size as the chains currently in your BigBox).
i have two of these drag chain https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Bes...32382916337.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.zRVKhS
I've started to print the parts. Unfortunately my Flex3D bed cover is not allowing MatX to adhere to well so had a little warping. Don't think it will affect the parts. I might order another couple of sheets of glass so I can glue them up.
Interestingly in my printer model I think it needs to be reduced by 3mm? Did you just screw straight through into the carriage to mount it? Edit: Scratch that! A mate fell over in Solidworks, it currently sits around 8.5mm from the hot end as built, obviously this is in a perfect world where I have assembled everything exactly as E3D have recommended.
Fan ducts have to make thinner to get cables go between fan and motor. I got yesterday new pulley to y-axis and get first extruder to working. Now i printing new version of right x-carriage. Maybe today i can start to calibrate dual printing. I like that x-rail. It is so quiet. X-rail is like a electric car and y-axis sounds like a train .
What was wrong with the current right carriage?
What was wrong with the current right carriage?
File which is here is ok. It is fixed version. I dont had printed that version earlier becouse i noticed mistake too late . But printer is alive now and here some proof
@potti5 that is sexy. This is where I currently am with my build. Just got to get the electronics installed and we are go. As a stroke of luck the original acrylic base is about 10mm wider than this frame so for the time being I will mount it directly to the back.
