This looks like an interesting ready-made touch probe that combines a solenoid and an accurate detection design.. thoughts?

I did mount it a few months ago, but returned to the IR sensor.
I did not manage to get BL touch and auto-leveling working with the BigBox firmware.
I think it will work if the Z-axis home is not the same position as the Z-axis min position.
On for instance the OrdBot Hadron the Z-axis homes on the max position and than BL-Touch and autolevelling works ok with the firmware

What did help me a lot is that I added an extra Z-zero position sensor so the Z-axis returns to the same position every time. (however that is something different thank you ask about obviously)

I've ordered three of them for all my printers. I think these might be the better solution. At least better then the IR and induction... It leans closer to the original endstop mounted on a servo, but without the twitching behavior you get from a servo.

On another note... Even these get knocked off by sellers from China. Link
