    Hi!

Considering buying a mains powered heated bed from e3d, but I am a bit confused. It says it requires 800W, but as far as I understood you get this by connecting to bypass-terminals on your PSU to the mains, you don’t actually need a PSU that delivers 800+ watt, or?

Do not buy an A/C powered heated bed if you do not fully understand how it operates.

800W is the power rating of the bed, it will draw 800W an hour from the mains. It must be controlled via an SSR connected to suitable control electronics, such as the Duet2/3.

Please consult a qualified electrician for details. I am not a qualified electrician....

Well, asking here is one part of me trying to understand it fully. How does anyone learn, if not by asking questions?
