Hopefully someone can help, I'd like to buy some Misumi LMUWF8 bearings for when I rebuild my dual with the hybrid carriage. Unfortunately, as Misumi are a B2B they won't take my money.

I would like 16 in total but 4 would be enough to get me started with.

I would be interested, but do we have to check the size of the rods first?

    Yes in the UK too.

Why LMUWF8 and not LMUW8? I don't think the cage in stainless steel had any influence in our use case...
They are already not cheap so why pay 50% more?

    One bearing is 6€.
So 8 bearings 53€ untracked delivery to the UK, 61€ tracked delivery to the UK...

I had a look to see if I could buy some since I have a small business, but we are a very small company so we are not VAT registered and it seems like they will only deal with you if you have a VAT number.

If you are small I am very small. I had no revenue the last years with the business. I am only me. But if you want the smallest business still gets a VAT number if you want one here in Germany. No idea how it works somewhere else though...

I am also only me ;-) got two clients only right now and considering that I am in the start-up business ... things are fun and risky and small

In the UK you don't have to register for VAT unless you exceed £83k in turnover. The problem is that if you mainly deal with individuals who are not VAT registered, it effectively makes your goods or services more expensive since you're now obliged to charge them VAT. If your business is mostly B2B then it's more of a no-brainer. There's also all the extra accounting stuff to deal with but that's not a massive hassle if you have a competent accountant of course.

Another option if it is of interest, I'm in the USA right now and I've got a few of the Actobotics bearings on order that I'm bringing back with me to the UK in a week.

If anyone is interested in those I could bring back more...

I can't vouch for the relative quality vs the Misumi but there has been at least one favorable report on here about them.

I do also have a UK company that is VAT registered so I can get a Misumi account but those bearings are not cheap and if I was putting an order through the company I'd also have to add VAT onto the resale price, so they get even more expensive even at zero margin.

    Anyway, just a thought...

Corey, you are correct, don't need the LMUWF8, the LMUW8 is more than adequate.

Like you all I fell foul of the VAT requirement.

I'll take 16 even though I only need 8, can't have too many spares. Or for when I introduce a friend to the dark side of the BigBox.

Mark_T - If you do purchase any I'll take some even with VAT and postage as I'd rather buy the best and cry once!

If anyone is looking for good linear bearings at a great price in the USA I would definitely recommend the Actobotics 535226 linear bearings.

I did send quite a few out, I would have to check what the final cost was (no margin) with VAT and shipping (VAT only in europe).
