So I have squeezed the last few mm out of the Hybrid carriage to get the full 300mm on X without having to modify the frame. I'm currently printing Benchy as a test before sharing more details. I am using @Alex9779 's mirroed firmware but need to check a few things out.
Appears to be working and I have the full 300mm travel on X without modifying the frame. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1597431 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1597425
Errr yes, I thought about doing this at first too because in the V1.0 the extruder offset was 35mm... So I wanted to reduce the 38mm of the hybrid to that too. I have the modified top and bottom carriage parts too for an offset of 35mm but @Paul Seccombe did you think about the fan duct? The outlets are designed for an offset of 38mm, if you move them closer together, I moved the bowden hotend aka the left one, think you moved that too, then the nozzle is right in the air stream... No idea if this will cause problems so I postponed that until I have designed an updated fan duct since I am very unhappy with the single-sided cooling anyways...
@Alex9779 I did look at the air duct but as I tend not to use cooling much I didn't think a few mm would make much difference and I wanted the 300mm on the X axis. So far the traffic cone prints I have done to check the offsets have been fine printed in PETG. I have seen your CFD work on the fan flow so am certainly looking forward to an improved design (please make one for 35mm offset ;-))
Yup I was talking about X, I just realized @Paul Seccombe has Y in his posts but he meant X for sure...
