So I got the parts to upgrade my v6 to the new temp probe and sock. it was working till the sock got ripped, and I had plastic build up behind the sock. I took it off and continued to print with out it.

I now have a problem with the set screw that holds the temp probe in place. I started taking apart my hot end, and can't get the screw out. Molten plastic got into the hole and the screw is jammed. I would soak it in some acetone, but the temp probe is still in there, and I'm worried the acetone might damage it. Any suggestions on how I can get it apart?

Put it back together, and heat it up. Once you heat it past the melting point of the filament, you can just fish it out, and this will also help get the set screw out as the metal heater block is expanding

    Hope it helps :)

You know, I had that exact same idea on my drive home from work after I posted this question, I'll try this tonight. Thanks!
