Hi Krakenites!(Krakenzens, Krakeners, etc) Can the Kraken's heater cartridges be run at 24V? I don't see any linear rail connections on the Kraken itself. Am I missing it or is it not on the part itself? Can anyone recommend a good Kraken direct drive mount? I saw this one: http://coherent-reprap.blogspot.co.uk/ which I like because it's direct drive Though it looks kind of annoying to modify the gcode for that. I'm planning on potentially doing some flexible filaments like Ninjaflex. How large of a water reservoir is recommended for bulletproof operation? Is there an ambient temperature at which the water doesn't transfer enough heat? I'm planning on having the water run through a heated enclosure, I assume that water's high thermal insulation will keep it from becoming ineffective.
I don't believe so, I think they are standard 12V cartridges. I bought some special 24V cartridges last year when I blew a 12V running it on 24v. I run a Rostock delta so can't help on the mount. The Kraken has 4 threaded holds for mounting. I use a 1l reservoir and run all day with no problems.
Can you point me to the 24V heater cartridge you used on your Kraken? My machine runs on 24V. I found this one, but I'm not sure about the suitability http://www.makerfarm.com/index.php/12v- ... s-195.html Thanks!
We have started sellign 24v cartridges on our site if that is of interest to you.. http://e3d-online.com/24v-RepRap-Heater ... urer_id=11
