    Hello all

sometimes i just want to get the nozzle a little more near the bed for the first layer.
Always did a complete new bed leveling process and set all points tighter.

Just noticed that there is a Bed Z Offset Value in the LCD Menu under Control->Motion.
Can i change that with this or does this not work like that ?

If yes should i increase the value positive or negative to get closer to the bed ?

    Cheers

If you're doing mesh bed levelling, I'm not sure the z-offset has any effect.

If you're not using MBL, I'd really recommend it. It made a big difference to my ability to get good first layers pretty much all of the time.

If you're using Simplify 3D, then the first layer thickness is a setting in there too.

I do that every so often and it works for me. A positive value will take the bed further away from the nozzle, so you will need to reduce the value or possibly go into negatives to get it closer.
Once you've made a change don't forget to go back up a menu level and click 'store'.
