We do a large quantity of large build volume, geometric prints (think cubes, funnels, etc) that do not require high detail on our Makers Tool Works MendleMax3. Currently it has the stock e3D v6 all metal dual extruders installed.

What I would like to do is use one extruder with a large volume nozzle (1mm+) and the stock .4mm nozzle on the other extruder.

The issue here is the fact that the volcano has the z offset (hangs down a little lower) than the stock all metal v6. In order to use them both I would need to upgrade the other extruder to the Volcano.

My question is can I use my .4mm nozzle in the volcano? Will it thread into it? Will the extra long heat chamber cause any issues?

    Thanks
