Using Version 1.2.15 (master branch) of Octoprint

    Printer baud rate is 230400.

I'm able to connect to the printer and control the print head, view camera video with no problem. When I click "Check for Updates" I get this error "Unable to get printer's data"

This button does not work with the BB and the firmware...
Also deactivate the checkbox to check for updates...

I recommend now using @tohara 's new plugin for Octoprint, https://github.com/tohara/OctoPrint-BigBoxFirmware
Though this does not eat firmware files but compiles it on the Pi from configuration profiles. There are default profiles for some BB versions...

I installed the plugin from the link you sent. When I launch the plugin and click to flash to "Default Hybrid-Dual RC7" - I believe I'm currently on RC6 I get the following dialog - all that happens is the checkout - should I expect more from to happen? I thought I might see the source compile and upload. It took about 2 seconds from "starting..." to "done!".

If you want to use the default profiles without modifications you first need to add https://github.com/tohara/Marlin.git to repo's.

Then open the profile you want to use and verify repo is set to above url and branch to BB_RC7_BASE or preferably change to BB_RC7_BF_BASE which is the RCBugFix.

You will see the complete build history and avrdude flashing in the output window if everything is ok.

If you just want to use the stock RC6 firmware you can add this to repos:
    https://github.com/BigBox3D/Marlin.git

Then create a new profile, select the BigBox3D repo and then select the branch for the printer you have. You do not need to add any define variables, just click confirm and then flash.

You can find some more info on th plugin here.

Super - that did the trick and the new firmware is on the Rumba - slick. I've lost the MBL with this RC7 build but auto level seems to be working now.

    Thank you.
