I have a lot of issues with what looks like the start of each layer. But this passes as the print continues. See photo.

    Printing with HTPLA @ 240C

    Any suggestions?

Only with that material or all materials? Model related perhaps? Something in the way it's been sliced?

It's still there with no retraction.

I have only been using cheap PLA and HTPLA that I can remember when this happens. In most of my prints I got this issue more or less.

Even if it disappears through the print it can show it self again in some cases.

So it's not model related. Maybe the slicer. S3D v3 and now v4.

... and when you replace the nozzle with a new (fresh) one ? I once had strange extrusion issues due to a partially clogged nozzle.

Hehe, I had an major blockage yesterday after the heat sink fan did not start up. So I had to pick it a part and burn the stuff out. I swapped nozzle at the same time from 0.5 to 0.35 and the problem disappeared. Might be the nozzle or now the settings are changed.
