I need to replace my hotend on my Prusa MK3, urgent like, and can’t wait for parts if ordered from Prusa in Czech. According to the website, the “Prusa-specific iteration of the E3D v6 HotEnd is intended as a drop-in replacement for your original Prusa i3 MK3 or MK3S printer. Ships with the standard v6 components, plus a Prusa-specific thermistor, heatbreak and 40W heater cartridge.” Stupid question part: On the instructions, it states the need to modify your firmware, and I’m wondering if this is required seeing it is a “drop-in replacement”? I’m thinking the instructions were written to cover a broad range of printers, and if so, this drop in should be same-same as the one it is replacing as far as the firmware is concerned. Or do I need to screw around with the firmware, which is not something I prefer to do. Thanks!
