Recommended PEI sheet thickness?

I bought a thin PEI sheet a while back and it has both broken and cracked over time. I am wondering what the best thickness (approx) would be; too thin and it rips, too thick and it would probably take a very long time to heat up. I have really enjoyed using the bed with TPU, Nylon, PLA, ABS, and PETG and PETT.

So I am asking more experienced folks, what do you recommend? I am in the US, so PEI sheet is less expensive than clever3d's aluminium with a molecular coating of PEI on it (shipping is 49Euro).

    Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't be too worried about time to heat really. I have 3mm PEI on the original glass bed and don't notice a difference.

    Thanks!
I decided to try using "Printbite". If that doesn't work out, I'll try to find something about 3mm thick that is not ridiculously expensive

My biggest issue was actually getting the pei for a reasonable price. Rich Rap mentioned this source in the U.K.
