(First time here for a while!)

I’m doing a revamp on my Big Box and fitting a Volcano upgrade. I loosened the heatbreak from the heatsink and it has residue from the thermal compound on it.

Does anyone know the best way to clean the threads on both?

Just to help anyone who looks here for an answer, it was recommended by E3D support:

If the Paste has Hardened then you may wish to use isopropyl alcohol, ensuring that this is rinsed thoroughly before applying the fresh paste.
You may also need to use a non-abrasive or a cloth that would leave fibres, the material on the components.
Cloths such as a microfiber cloth or non-abrasive brush should be ok to uses ensuring the threads of the Heatbreak and heater block threads are not damaged.”

I did this and it worked well!

    Cheers guys
