I have a Robo 3d printer. The extruder heater has failed and I need to get it working again reasonably quickly. I was wondering if installing the V6 would be the simplest and easiest way to fix the problem. Would it be a "drop in" compatible component or would I need to do other work in order to fit it. The robo uses a RAMPS board, would I need to make any modifications to this in order to make it work. Thanks
Quite common, I know of at least a dozen users of Robo3d with E3Ds. Here's an overview https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fry ... sFx0/edit# (scroll down to section C.2)
Tim thanks for that, but from now on can we start referencing this wiki: http://wiki.robo3d.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ You could also just use the heater cartridge for the hexagon if you don't want to go through the whole replacement process
