Looking forward to the bigbox build after such a failure with the Velleman Vertex K8400.
and still on going after 3 mths. Need a good thin in my life to cheer me up and the BigBox is it, roll on happy days.
Just wish I could speed up time.

Ooh what happened with your k8400 Kenneth, I nearly pressed the button on one before the BB came up but aborted because it isn't open hardware and frankly vellman spares and support or lack of in the uk just finished me off.

My k8200 has been ok though for the £350 it cost it's been good value. Just reached the end of its capability now.

I bought the dual and other bits and bobs as you do came to close on £800. Got it built 3 weeks before Christmas didnt work two stepper motors where down then a bang and nothing, so sent all electricals back. They said they where faulty so they change them, they sent back which i never got. So they sent more out recorded delivery this took a month, got it built back again one stepper motor is still not working and sd card reader dose not work. Still waiting reply from them over a week now since my last email. Crazy

It's either a mistype or they are going out of order. It is still going to be a few more weeks at least :-/

Kenneth, sounds about right I am afraid, the reason my 8200 has an e3d hot end (and ultimately the reason I am a BB backer) is because I had hotend meltdown and Vellman wanted £90 for a replacement ( they didn't sell the heatbreak seperately at the time) and also forum members were waiting 3 months for parts. I just gave up and converted mine to run with the e3d and it turned out to be one of the best upgrades I did. Sorry to hear thats a rough start to a hobby. Admire your persistence though.

They are going out of order, I think Mike said that earlier in the thread that its merely a guide :)

Anyway #194 has shipped today, should be with me tomorrow in London, UK.
Ordered the dual in polar white :)

which makes sense, if they have 10 prebuilt machines ready to go and they happen to be backer 5, 60, 140, 340, 400, etc. They arent going to wait until the number when they could just ship it. Im sure they could use the space.

    What happened?

Edit: I just read the kick starter page. Looks like the foam for the bottom is cut wrong cause broken panels.
