So I updated the Simplify3d to the latest version.
did a clean install and selected e3d bigbox dual. All Done (or so I thought)

Im no expert but I had a look in the stock ending script
    and found a nasty surprise.

When the ending script has docked, someone thought it would be funny to home x position.
Bad move since it then crashes the fan into the frame.

    NICE ONE Simplify3D \o/

So just delete the text in bold shown below.

    M104 S0 T0 ; turn off right extruder
    M104 S0 T1 ; turn off left extruder
    M117 Print Complete
    T0 ; select primary toolhead
    G1 X70 Y200 F3000 ; move to dock position
    G1 X70 Y240 F3000
    M140 S0 ; turn off bed

    G28 X0 ; home X axis

    M84 ; disable motors
    M106 S0 ; turn off cooling fan

Aside from that obvious fail, how do you find the stock simplify3d profile in 3.1?

The stock settings, are a good base line, Im just tweaking them at the moment for the volcano.

But its all good, apart from the initial scary ending.

I hade the same issue of the head crashing into the wall instead of docking ...I changed the script both starting and ending x passion to 115 instead of 70...on beginning script make sure to change the coordinates when it leaves the dock mine was at x80 and I also changed it to 115 ...worked for me
