Hello! I've been using my e3d v6 for a year now and I'm loving it. In the last few days I've been having a weird issue with the temperature dropping and then coming back up again. (See the screenshot) I even had a print fail due to the temp getting too low. I've found lightly jiggling the thermistor cable seems to help for a while, which leads me to believe that's where the issue could lie. I'm thinking I will need to replace the thermistor cartridge but I wanted to ask first and see if there is anything I can do to fix the one I have. I've checked all the connections and they seem to be fine, but it could be the thermistor connection needs re crimping. As to the cause, I swapped nozzles last week and adjusted the hotend to fit better with the cooling duct so I could have damaged a connection doing that... [Edit]: I forgot to mention, I have done some searching, here and on google. I have found similar issues, but most of the posts seem to have the temp going high and low, not just low. When it does work the temp is very stable. Thanks Chris
The issue is gone today, not sure exactly what fixed it. I adjusted the wiring further and am 2h15 into a print with no more than a 0.2c drop in temp.
Check that the heater cables are firmly held in the terminal block by tightening the screws and those to the power supply if its not a power brick. If yours wires are plugged in then a few removals and replacing will wipe the contacting parts to restore a better connection.
