Hello, I am getting strange behaviour on my hotend temps. The reported temps on the lcd and octoprint fluctuate. Once it gets to temp im seeing it bouncing all over the place between +/- 5 deg for the most part. Sometimes its a bit more. This is the new cartridge style, i just bought it. I followed the install instructions. Its so bad that on a M109 the print wont start. Could this just be a bad cartridge? How would i be able to find out? Thanks
Printer? Controller? Temp sensor type ("new cartridge style") Thermistor? Thermocouple? or PT100 or? If you have changed sensor type then maybe different than before? Checked the sensor resistance? (lots of posts on this forum recently including confusion over colour of wires on different sensors) PT100 is about 110 ohms apparently. Did you do PID tuning..............and saved the results to the EEPROM? ........ not just written them to controller in which case after a power off they are gone again. Position of heat sink cooling fan (say on E3D V6?) Position of print cooling fan? Too low on the BigBox can cause problems if it cools the nozzle and heater block not the print.
