    Except they were not the first. Adrian Bowyer made a 4-in-1 out filament path long before prusa did. Blackbelt will be an industry first I believe (although there have been some belted printers, none offer an infinite Y axis with 45degree Z axis).

    I would have to agree that the Black belt is the most interesting development in FDM at the moment, with the hang printer a close second. Im interested to see what the adhesion is like on the belt as that will dictate how successful it is as a machine (and a business).

    Yeah the Prusa solution is neat. I'm not so much interested in playing with colours as using soluble support and unfortunately their system lends itself to a single printing temperature.

    Intellectually, the 45 degree thing is mind-blowing.

    It is. You know it's a brilliant idea when you see it and it seems so oblivious in retrospect.

    I could see them being gobbled up by a bigger megacorp. It would probably even be worth it for shapeways to do it.

    I hope some patent troll doesn't pop up and ruin everything.
