    Hi,

Currently sourcing parts for a printer and had almost settled on the E3D V5 hotend until I noticed Sanjay mentioning a V6 being in the works in some forum. Long story short - should I just get the V5 or wait for the V6? :) Can you provide any info on the improvements planned? Any ETA?

    Hey Tarjeik,

V6 is indeed in the works. But I don't want to say too much - that would spoil all the excitement!

What I can tell you is that the HotEnd will:
    • Contain no Kapton :D :D
    • Be lighter and a little more compact
    • Be more geared towards printing with flexible plastics

There will be a beta product coming out in the next 2 months which will be available to buy. The finished product will be coming out after this depending on how the beta run goes.

In the meantime I would advise going with the v5.

Will the V5 be discontinued when beta testing of V6 is complete?
