So I got my printer dialed in this weekend and everything was going great, then I decided that I needed to print some upgrades. Set it to printing and stepped away and promptly fell asleep.....yes yes...unattended printing = very bad. Well it looks like my thermistor popped out of the hole and was close enough to read something so the heater just kept cranking away....until it melted the block. I am guessing it burned out completely but now my V5 is melted. No v5 1.75mm heatbreaks in stock...plenty of blocks though. How compatible are the parts from the v6 with my existing heatsink? can I just get a new cartridge, v6 block and break, and nozzle and be up and running relatively cheap? to be completely honest, I went with the e3d to get away from plastic parts but it looks like the v6 1.75 uses some plastic tubing anyways....this little *ahem* "test" I have performed however shows how well the heatbreak works, so perhaps the point is moot anyways. Pictures of the carnage
Hi prozach, maybe you find this thread helpful, I had kind of the same problem for different reasons http://forum.e3d-online.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=265 cheers
