So i had a chance to change out the tube on my Lite

while at it i ordered capicorn and some new nozzles

since the capricorn is so good a fit i wonder if i need lower retract?

as i remember the reason we have retract in the first place is that with normal bowden tube the filament is under tension due to that we need to feed more filament to account for the greater tolerance

since the capricorn has less tolerance the logic must be that less retract is needed

Retraction reduces the back pressure exerted at the nozzle by the extruder and is required to prevent ooze. Theoretically, with a higher tolerance tube, you should be able to reduce your retractions. While we observe an increase in the print quality with some materials (flexibles being the prime example), we have not observed a different behaviour with regards to retractions.
